Making saving work for you
Our standard savings account is available to all members with JTCU to allow you to save in a way that works for you.
There are no monthly or annual charges on our savings accounts and no minimum deposit amounts, making them accessible to anyone who wants to start building a small rainy day fund or saving up for a long term goal.
Available savings can be withdrawn at any time via a same day bank transfer. There are no withdrawal caps or penalties for making a withdrawal. For the majority of requests we can have the money transferred by Faster Payment the same day you request it.
By becoming a member of JTCU you also become a shareholder with us meaning that you receive a dividend on your savings. Our most recent rate was 1.75%, putting us above most interest rates offered by high street banks for similar savings accounts.
As a member and saving with JTCU you can be assured that your money is helping the local community by providing a pot of money for members to borrow from. You can also get peace of mind that your money is safe & secure and covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

How do I become a member?
Anyone who lives or works within Blackburn with Darwen can apply to become a member with JTCU. Simply drop in and see us to complete a Membership Application form along with a couple of forms of ID for yourelf
How can I save?
We like to make saving work for you by offering different methods of saving. Members can save either by paying in cash at our office or Outreach sessions; by setting up a standing order; by BACS payments into their account or by calling our office to make debit card payments.
How much can I save?
How much you save is up to you. We understand that even small amounts for some people can feel like a sizeable amount and can quickly build up over time. Our members can choose to either pay in on a regular basis or just as and when they want to. Currently, our maximum savings account limit is £60,000.
Need more than one saving account?
We understand that sometimes you may need to keep some savings separate. Alongside our standard savings account, our members can open up a second savings account with no additional charge if they wish to. We also offer a Christmas Savings account to any members wishing to keep their Christmas Savings seperate.
